Washington’s state education department today announced nine school districts that will receive $17 million in federal School Improvement Grants to help turn around low-performing schools.
According to a release from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Seattle, Tacoma, Marysville, Yakima, Wellpinit, Sunnyside, Highline, Grandview and Longview will all receive funds for the 2010-2011 school year. [...]
