Four schools in Jefferson County – three elementary schools and one middle school — have been awarded federal School Improvement Grants through the Oregon Department of Education.

The Jefferson County School District, which serves a primarily rural area in north central Oregon, will convene a meeting of its School Board this week to formally accept the money into the schools’ budgets. The schools slated to receive funds include:

Buff Elementary School: $34,775

Jefferson County Middle School: $33,050

Madras Elementary School: $121,325

Warm Springs Elementary School: $60,000

The agenda for the upcoming School Board meeting can be found here.

I believe that the Jefferson County grants that you reported on are Title 1(s) money, not SIG (1(g)) money. The district is applying for SIG money for its high school but the application is not in yet.
